Current ongoing community initiatives & partnerships include:
Oak Hills Church Folsom, CA where Angela Houk serves as Artist in Residence. There she operates The Studio a community art space and offers regular workshops on creativity as well as classes in a variety of art mediums for all ages. She also oversees the Art & Soul Gallery which regularly features local artists of faith and their work.
Intersections: Arts & Faith Organization, Folsom, CA is a community initiative of New Joy Arts where Angela Houk serves a Co-Director alongside Judith Monroe and a leadership team to encourage, equip and connect artists of faith in the Northern California Region.
Powerhouse Ministries, Folsom, CA exists to inspire and empower people to rise above their circumstances, change their lives and impact their community. New Joy Arts partners with PHM to support their goals by designing and teaching courses, offering arts workshops, as well as assisting with creative programming for community events.
Meraki High School, Fair Oaks, CA is a project-based learning environment rooted in students’ innate creative genius and innovation in order to prepare students to flourish on any path they choose. New Joy Arts partners with Meraki to design and run student workshops for learning project planning skills in addition to equipping community volunteers with skills to offer one-on-one support to students as needed.
Mr. Hammond’s Center for Project Based Learning, Orangevale, CA is an experienced based learning environment dedicated to exploring creativity, music, writing and the natural world for students learning at home or at school. New Joy Arts partners with this center by teaching nature drawing classes and connect to creative community resources.

Almondale Academy, Orangevale, CA is an experiential community school devoted to the virtues of service where educators engage with learners in direct experience and focused reflection. New Joy Arts partnered with Almondale as a creativity and project based learning consultant. Our role was to work with the administration and teaching staff to facilitate discussion as well as create workshops for their development. In addition, Angela taught visual arts, theater, music and a variety of other classes for students in K-12th grades.
