Folsom’s Hope

Folsom, CA – 2016/2018/2021/2024 to Present

Folsom’s Hope is dedicated to mentoring, tutoring, supporting, encouraging and nurturing at-risk students—elementary, middle and high school in Folsom, CA. The STARS after-school program for students (Grades 3-8) is where struggling students receive both academic help and loving encouragement to keep learning.

New Joy Arts partners with Folsom’s Hope to create weekly art workshops that help students develop their social & emotional awareness as part of the after school programming support they offer. During the Covid quarantine NJA assisted Folsom’s Hope by meeting with staff & community leaders to help design creative remote learning support & arts opportunities for the at risk students they serve.

New Pacific Charter School

Roseville, CA – 2023 to Present

New Pacific Charter offers personalized & project-based learning in a nurturing environment. Their curriculum is designed to prepare students not just academically, but for all aspects of life. Every lesson is meaningful, purposeful, and self-paced, opening doors to endless opportunities.

New Joy Arts partners with the staff & teachers at New Pacific Charter School to offer arts integration & programming support onsite in the classroom. This support is offered through a variety of teacher workshops, Co-teaching arts content with core subject lessons and extending studio arts resources to classrooms for students project based lessons.

HART of Folsom

Folsom CA – 2019 to Present

HART of Folsom is a non-profit community-based volunteer organization assisting those experiencing homelessness in Folsom toward self-sufficiency and greater independence. They operate the Folsom Winter Shelter for 3 months each year The shelter is staffed by volunteers (over 350 last year) who commit to deliver the services needed to provide safety, shelter, food and transportation to individuals in need.

New Joy Arts partners with HART to provide art materials and creative activities for guests in the winter shelter while equipping volunteers to do this at various shelter sites. In addition to these donated materials and services, NJA has partnered with the staff at HART to create photo booth stations for their community walk fundraiser event. Through using New Joy Arts’ resources we are able to bring art to the most needy in our local community.

Powerhouse Ministries

Folsom, CA – 2013 to Present

Powerhouse Ministries exists to inspire and empower people to rise above their circumstances, change their lives, and impact their community. They offer a wide array of services including a Crisis and Community Care Center for those who are looking to leave behind the cycles of homelessness, addiction, abuse, sex trafficking, mental health, and incarceration. They provide immediate resources as well as long-term plans, residential recovery programs and referrals to help people get back on their feet again. 

New Joy Arts partners with Powerhouse to create community arts engagement opportunities for the adults, teens & children they serve. Through a long term partnership with the residential recovery program, New Joy Arts has developed a curriculum series for personal, relational & emotional wholeness that is a part of the ongoing class curriculum. With the launch of the Leadership College Internship Program in 2022 New Joy Arts also created workshops for creativity & leadership development for the 2 year course.

The Studio at Oak Hills

The Studio is a dedicated community art space on the Oak Hills Church Campus that was created in collaboration with New Joy Arts to help cultivate the creative capacity of individuals. Through the volunteer participation of local artists, The Studio offers regular classes and workshops on in a variety of creative mediums for people of all ages. New Joy Arts manages and utilizes The Studio as a resource for mentoring artists, hosting workshops and teaching classes for the community.
